Good news! Starting from 2026, overseas Chinese students and international students who apply for a post-graduation residence extension may work freely in Taiwan without applying for a work permit, opening up more opportunities for career development after graduation.

Three Major Policy Relaxations

1.No application required / Zero threshold

  No work permit application to the Ministry of Labor is required. Legal  

  employment is allowed with an approved residence extension.

2.No restrictions on industry or job type

  Both full-time and part-time positions are permitted across all industries and

  occupations, allowing flexible accumulation of practical work experience.

3.Up to 2 years of residence extension

  Graduates may apply for a residence extension of up to two years to seek

  employment and plan their career paths in Taiwan.

Fast-track employment process

Employers can hire directly without additional procedures, enabling a smoother and faster transition into the workplace.
