Ready to paddle, race, and maybe discover muscles you didn’t know existed?

The Office of Global Affair (OGA) and Foreign Students Association (FSA) are excited to invite all exchange and international students to join the NTHU Dragon Boat Team for the 2026 Dragon Boat Festival in Hsinchu. This is one of Taiwan’s most iconic cultural events and a unique opportunity to experience local traditions while representing NTHU in an exciting city-wide competition.

Why join?

Participating in the dragon boat race is a great way to:

• Experience Taiwanese culture firsthand

• Build teamwork and friendships

• Represent NTHU in a competitive and fun sporting event

Team Composition (18 members total):

• 1 Flag Catcher

• 1 Drummer

• 16 Paddlers

Please note that spots are limited. If applications exceed capacity, a physical fitness test will be conducted for selection.

Training & Preparation:

• Weekly fitness training sessions (Track or Gym at NTHU)

• At least four on-water practice sessions before the race

• Coach: Eric (Shang-Hao) Tsai, Department of Kinesiology

Important Details:

• Training Start: April 2026

• Application Deadline: March 30, 2026

• Race Dates: June 19–20, 2026 (Dragon Boat Festival)

• Race Location: Nanliao Old Fishing Port, Hsinchu City
  (approximately 30 minutes from campus)
