NTHU International Student Scholarship were revised in April 2025. Students are now classified into two categories: those eligible for renewal review and those who need to reapply.

Eligibility (reapplying)

International students enrolled in Spring Semester, with the exception of students in College of Semiconductor Technology and the Taipei School of Economics and Political Science. 

The maximum scholarship duration is as follows:

• Undergraduate students: up to four years from the date of enrollment.

• Master’s students: up to two years (students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Counseling Psychology Division of the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling, and the International Intercollegiate Master’s Program in Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language may receive up to three years).

• Ph.D. students: up to five years.

Eligibility (renewal review)

If you are currently receiving the NTHU International Student Scholarship and fit the status listed below, are eligible for scholarship renewal.

1.     will be in PhD Years 2–4.

2.     will be in Master’s Year 2.

3.     will be in Master’s Year 3 and are in the colleges listed below

50. College of Humanities and Social Science
50. Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling – Counseling Psychology
50. International Intercollegiate MS Program – MA is Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language.

Please refer to the list for students who are eligible for scholarship renewal (In short, students in the name list are eligible for the renewal review.)

Special note for PhD students who will be in Year 5 in the 114-2 semester, you need to reapply and submit your APE form.

Application period:  For both reapplying and renewal review students, the online application will start from December 31,2025 to January 8, 2026, using the same link.

Application Link: will be announced on December 31

Under Review：January to March

Result announcement: Mid-March, announce on the OGA website and email to all applicants as well

Award period: February 2026 to January 2027

Required documents for renewal review students:

Master’s students who are eligible for renewal only need to submit their transcript(both 113-2 and 114-1), while doctoral students are required to submit both their transcript(both 113-2 and 114-1) and the Academic Performance Evaluation Form(APE form).

Note for submitting:

1. To speed up the reviewing process and make it easy for the reviewer to notify who you are, please combine multiple documents into a single PDF file in the order 1,2,3,4, and RENAME it with an abbreviation.
2. Please use “Chrome” and log in your Gmail to submit. The link can only be filled out once and cannot be modified after submission. PDF file only and Total upload capacity is limited to 1MB and up to 1 file.​ (for PhD, is 10MB)
3. For PhD and Master's students who are NOT eligible for renewal , you need to ask your advisor to send the recommendation letter to scholarship@my.nthu.edu.tw by yourself before the deadline. (Note: To help us recognize the applicant, please email with the subject: recommendation letter- student ID.)

Note for tuition fee and stipend:

1. Due to the Chinese New Year vacation, please DO NOT PAY the tuition bill until we announce the scholarship result. We will send the name list of all applicants to the Office of Academic Affairs for tuition fee extension
2. After we announce the scholarship result, we will give you both February and March stipends at the end of March.
