Announcement for application of 2nd-semester 113th academic year MOE Outstanding Overseas Chinese Graduate student scholarship.

To apply for this scholarship,pls prepare the application packet with application form (hard copy and on-line google form) and other material. Pls check the details as below.

I.            According to the "Guidelines for the Ministry of Education's Subsidy for Establishing Institutes and Scholarships for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Students" and the "Regulations for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Graduate Scholarships at National Tsing Hua University," the following procedures shall be carried out.

II.          Application period: from now until 2025.03.11(Tue.) 5:00PM

III.        Eligibility:

1.      Enrollment according to overseas Chinese returning to country to study and counseling methods, and outstanding overseas Chinese Master, Ph.D. students of NTHU. Hong Kong and Macao students are enrolled by the Hong Kong and Macao residents enrollment method in Taiwan, and outstanding overseas Chinese Master, Ph.D. students of NTHU.

2.      Freshman should get GPA 3.38(80 points) or above from the previous degree; current students should get GPA3.38(80 points) or above in the average academic grade from previous semester and have no record of misconduct. For those who have completed the graduation credits and only take the thesis, you can apply with the average GPA of all semesters, but only once.

3.      In the current semester, applicants who have already been awarded various types of scholarships or grants by other organizations (including government agencies or schools) are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

IV.    Application method:

To apply for this scholarship, students should prepare the following material and hand in before 2025.03.11(Tue.) 05:00 PM.

1.      Application form (hard copy and on-line application google-sheet)

2.      Freshman: Full academic transcript of previous degree.
Current student: Transcripts of the previous semester (113^th academic year 1^st semester). For those who only take the thesis, you can apply with Transcript for full Semesters.

3.      Recommendation letter from thesis advisor or tutor.

4.      Other documents (Financial situation, academic performance, extracurricular activities, other outstanding performance within 2024-2025, the outdated data is not included in the evaluation.)

※ The application packet should be hand in before 2025.03.11 05:00 PM. DOS office (General BuildingⅠ R111 ) Pls note that 12:00-13:00 is lunch time.

V.      Criteria and procedures:

The review committee composed by the Vice President for Global Affairs, and the representatives of each college. And the Vice President for Global Affairs serves as chairman of review committee.  The review committee will decide the scholarship awardees by comprehensive conditions such as the total funding, the amount applied, the academic performance of the applicant, other outstanding performance, the credits had taken, demand of the scholarship, number of awarded and so on.

VI.       The awarding period is six months, each applicant will maximum be awarded for three semesters, master and Ph.D. degree is calculated separately.

VII.     Other qualification will be governed by the implementation rules of the scholarship (as attached).
