The Culture Seeds Program, initiated by the Office of Global Affairs, is a cultural volunteer service designed to support second-generation immigrant children in Taiwan. We are recruiting Tsinghua University students with Vietnamese language skills (both international and local students are welcome) to provide cultural engagement and language instruction. The goal is to create a friendly environment where children can speak their mother tongue and explore their cultural heritage. The program aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligibility:

  • students with Vietnamese language skills (both international and local students are welcome), open for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs
  • Basic proficiency in Vietnamese and Chinese required

Duration: Mid-October to early December 2025 (8 sessions, once a week, Wednesday)

 

Training Dates: September 9 (Lecture), September 12 (Workshop), September 26 (Welcome Gathering) – priority given to applicants who attend all

8 sessions total, held weekly on Wednesdays

How it works:
Students will be paired in teams of two. Each pair will lead at least two sessions.
You can choose service dates based on your own availability!

 

Venue: Hsinchu City New Immigrant Families Service Center

 

Benefits:

- Material subsidy (up to NT$200/session, with valid receipts). 

- Participation certificate

- Meal subsidy (NT$120/meal, up to 3 meals per teaching day, with valid receipts). 

 

Participation Details:

After the recruitment deadline, applications will be jointly reviewed with VSA. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, interviews will be arranged.

  • Recruitment Period: Now until September 14 (Sunday) — Register via VSA
  • Interview Notification: September 15 via email — please reply to confirm
  • Interview Dates: September 15–18 (Online interviews will be scheduled)
  • Final Results Announcement: September 19 — Results will be posted on the Office of Global Affairs website and VSA’s Facebook page, and notifications will be sent via email
