Graduate students are encouraged to apply for the Pilot Program Scholarship, supporting short-term overseas research or study. Application deadline is July 25. Travel must commence by the end of October 2025. Funding is jointly provided by the Office of Global Affairs and academic departments. Details below.
🔹 Eligibility
- Current master’s or doctoral students with valid enrollment at NTHU (including graduating, extended, or continuing students)
- Recommended by academic advisor for at least 1 month overseas research or study at universities or institutions abroad
- Not eligible: Mainland China students, Semiconductor Institute students, or visits to Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau
🔹 Program Period
- Departure no later than October 31, 2025; return by November 30, 2025
- Visits completed since January 1, 2025 may also be eligible (conditions apply)
🔹 Funding
- 65% funded by Office of Global Affairs + 35% matched by department or professor (matching fund required)
- Funding amount based on destination and duration
🔹 Review Criteria
- Academic performance (GPA ≥ 3.4 or top 20% in class preferred)
- Completeness of visit plan, language proficiency, reputation of host institution, etc.
🔹 Application Deadline
- Submit to your department according to department announcements
- Final Submission to OGA (by colleges only): July 25, 2025 (Fri) 17:00
📑 Required Documents (Please staple in order)
- Pilot Program Application Form
- Recommendation Letter from Advisor
- Invitation Letter or Relevant Proof
- Visit Plan (English preferred but not mandatory)
- Commitment Letter
- Academic Transcripts (include class ranking)
- Language Proficiency Certificates (if any)
📌 Notes
- Visit must be at least 1 month long (excluding travel time)
- Cannot receive duplicate funding for the same visit purpose (e.g., other scholarships such as “Study Abroad” or “Thousand Miles Program”)
- Must submit visit report and flight boarding pass proof after visit
📄 Students should contact their department or college office to obtain application forms, internal deadlines, and further guidance. All submissions to OGA must be made through the college offices only.
