【Scholarship】NTHU International Student Scholarship on-line application for current students who enrolled in fall Semester starts from June 25 to July 2, 2026

NTHU International Student Scholarship were revised in April 2025. Students are now classified into two categories: those eligible for Renewal Review and those who need to Reapply.

While the eligibility and required documents differ between the two categories, the evaluation criteria remain unchanged. 

Eligibility (Reapplying)

International students enrolled in Fall Semester, with the exception of students in College of Semiconductor Technology and the Taipei School of Economics and Political Science. 

1. Undergraduate Students

All undergraduate students, except those on the scholarship renewal review list, are required to reapply regardless of scholarship status. The maximum scholarship duration for undergraduate students is up to four years from the date of enrollment.

2. Master’s Students

Master’s students who are not currently receiving a scholarship are required to reapply. The maximum scholarship duration for master’s students is up to two years.

**For students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Counseling Psychology Division of the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling, and the International Intercollegiate Master’s Program in Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language, the maximum scholarship duration may be up to three years.

3. Ph.D. Students

Ph.D. students who are not currently receiving a scholarship, as well as students who will be in their 5th year of Ph.D. study, are required to reapply regardless of scholarship status. The maximum scholarship duration for Ph.D. students is up to five years.

Eligibility (Renewal Review)

Students who are currently receiving the NTHU International Student Scholarship and meet one of the following statuses are eligible for scholarship renewal review:

1. Undergraduate students who will be in Years 2–4 and are included in the scholarship renewal review list.

2. Ph.D. students who will be in Years 2–4.

3. Master’s students who will be in Year 2.

4. Master’s students who will be in Year 3 and are enrolled in one of the following colleges/programs:

  • College of Humanities and Social Science
  • Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling – Counseling Psychology
  • International Intercollegiate MS Program – MA is Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language.

Please refer to the list for students who are eligible for scholarship renewal (In short, students in the name list are eligible for the renewal review.)

Special note for PhD students who will be in Year 5 in the 115-1 semester, you need to reapply and submit your APE form.

Application period:  For both reapplying and renewal review students, the online application will start from June 25 to July 2, 2026, using the same link.

Award period: September 2026 to August 2027

**Note for submitting:

  1. To speed up the reviewing process and make it easy for the reviewer to notify who you are, please combine multiple documents into a single PDF file in the order 1,2,3,4, and RENAME it with an abbreviation.
  2. Please use “Chrome” and log in your Gmail to submit. The link can only be filled out once and cannot be modified after submission. PDF file only and Total upload capacity is limited to 1MB and up to 1 file.​ (for PhD, is 10MB)
  3. For PhD and Master's students who are NOT eligible for renewal , you need to ask your advisor to send the recommendation letter to scholarship@my.nthu.edu.tw by yourself before the deadline. (Note: To help us recognize the applicant, please email with the subject: recommendation letter- student ID.)
