The Japan–Taiwan Exchange Association (JTEA) is inviting applications for its 2027 First-Term Scholarship for Short-Term Exchange Students. Eligible NTHU students planning to undertake exchange studies in Japan are welcome to apply.
1. Eligibility Requirements
Students commencing exchange studies in Japan between April and August 2027, for a period of at least three months but less than one year.
Taiwanese nationals under 35 years of age (born after 2 April 1992) who meet the academic and research requirements specified in the official guidelines.
Please refer to the official guidelines for further eligibility requirements and restrictions.
2. Scholarship Amount
JPY 80,000 per month, for a maximum of one year (with funding available until March 2028).

NTHU Internal Deadline: Wednesday, 28 October 2026
4. Application Procedure
Interested students should prepare the required application documents and submit them by email to Ms Chan (sychan@mx.nthu.edu.tw) at the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) by the NTHU internal deadline.

OGA will assist with the eligibility review and institutional nomination process. Instructions for submitting the required hard-copy documents will be provided separately. NTHU will then submit the completed applications to JTEA on behalf of eligible students.
