[Outbound Exchange Program] Application Now Open for the 2027 Spring Outbound Exchange Program (Excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau)

1. Explanation of Self-Funded Exchange Program:

  1. Participation in the exchange program allows you to enjoy a waiver of tuition and fees at sister schools (a few sister schools may require the payment of tuition and fees; please refer to the overseas exchange sister school list).

  1. The exchange period is one semester in the spring of 2027.

  1. Please refer to the quota for the available exchange schools for the spring of 2027.

  1. For information on sister schools, please refer to our website (https://oga.site.nthu.edu.tw/p/412-1524-18680.php?Lang=en). Each person can select up to 6 preferred choices.

  1. This program does not provide scholarships or financial assistance.

2. Eligibility and Restrictions for Application:

  1. Currently enrolled students at our university (second year or above for undergraduate programs, first year or above for master's programs, and first year or above for doctoral programs) are eligible to apply. Applicants must maintain the student status throughout the application and period abroad, and their academic degree must be consistent with their enrollment at our university.
  2. Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2 or be in the top 50% of the class based on the average class rankings of the previous two semesters. (Please provide transcripts for the current academic year and the previous semester, 2024-2025.)
  3. Provide a valid language proficiency test score obtained within the past two years (after January 2024) that meets the university's language requirements. Please refer to the language proficiency requirements for detailed information (TOEIC or GEPT scores are not accepted, and no additional supporting documents will be accepted). Please provide a copy of the language proficiency test report; original copies are not required.
  4. Preferred Choices: Each applicant can select up to 6 sister schools as their preferred choices.

3. Application Process:

Phase 1:

Please submit the following written application documents in the specified order to your home department by the submission deadline set by your department or college. (do not include a separate cover page, and please provide relevant information on A4-sized photocopies):

1. Application form for the Spring 2027 outgoing exchange student program.

2. Official transcripts: For undergraduate students, include class or department rankings. For first-year master's students, include undergraduate transcripts. For first-year doctoral students, include master's program transcripts.

3. Study plan for overseas learning (no specific format required; Chinese is acceptable). If selecting one school, provide a study plan for that school. If selecting five schools, provide study plans for all five schools. You may choose up to 6 schools to apply to, and fill out a study plan for each one accordingly.

4. Photocopy of valid language proficiency certification obtained within the past two years (original copies are not required). (Acceptable language proficiency certifications must be obtained after January 2024).

5. Photocopy of both sides of ID card (for foreign students or overseas Chinese, provide a copy of passport; for Mainland Chinese students, provide a copy of entry permit).

6. Photocopy of both sides of National Tsing Hua University student ID card.

7. Recommendation letter from an advisor (for undergraduate students), supervisor (for graduate students), or a faculty member who has taught the applicant (no specific format required).

8. Any other supporting materials that may be helpful for the evaluation process.

Phase 2:

After receiving the notification of departmental ranking, applicants are required to fill out the sister school preference form at the following website:

The submission period is from 21th March 115 (0:00) to 26st March 115 (12:00). Failure to complete this step will affect the subsequent distribution and review process.

2. Being selected for the program through the university's application process does not guarantee acceptance by the sister school. Each applicant has only one opportunity to apply to a sister school. Therefore, it is important for students to ensure that their preferences align with their field of study and meet the language requirements of the sister schools to avoid regretful rejections from overseas institutions.

3. The program expects to notify applicants of their acceptance or rejection by the end of April. Accepted students will be required to comply with the timeline provided by the program coordinator to submit the agreement for exchange and parental consent forms. If necessary, the program may inquire about their willingness for a second-round distribution.
