【Dual Degree Programs】Deadline of Fall Semester 2023: February 10, 2023

Regarding the application of Dual Degree Programs, please refer to website for details. If you are going to study abroad in Fall Semester 2023, please submit your completed application form to Division of Global Research Collaboration (MXIC Building) before February 10, 2023.

II. Procedure

  1. Part of programs should follow individual announcement on OGA website. For example University of Liverpool, UC Berkeley, and UCDavis 

  2.  The other programs:

1 Find Advisors
  • Find one advisor at each University
2 Plan Your Dual Degree Program
  • Confirm the rights and obligations (Stipend, Insurance, Visa…, etc.)
  • Determine the enrolling & studying semesters in NTHU
  • Registration duration requirement:
    • Master: registration with NTHU for least 1 year (2 semesters) *
    • Ph.D.: registration with NTHU for least 2 years (4 semesters) *

* registration on paper. The shortest staying duration in NTHU depends on the agreement.

Home University
  • Complete the administrative and nomination procedure at Home University.

Apply

to NTHU
  • The Home University send the list of candidates to DRC
  • All nominations must be submitted by the student coordinator of the Home University. Students are not allowed to apply themselves.
  • Required documents:
    • 1_Application Form - Incoming
    • 2_Release of Personal Information Agreement (as attached)
    • 3_Completed Individual Candidate Agreement or related documents
    • 4_Motivation Letter
    • 5_Transcripts 
    • 6_Supporting Documents
    • The e-signature is acceptable for the documents above.
  • Deadline:
    • The Application Form has to be submitted to DRC at least 6 months before the candidate arrives NTHU physically. Candidates from China should apply 1 year before physically visiting NTHU.
    • The deadline of the Application is around Feb. and Aug. every year.
  • Acceptance
    The review will take around 1~2 months. DRC will notify the candidate the decision of NTHU.
5 Prepare for Studying abroad 
  • DRS will help the candidate for the registration with NTHU (for instance: providing required documents for Visa application, latest regulation of COVID-19, information regarding health insurance…, etc.)
6 Arrive NTHU
  • Arrival
    Students for Fall Semester have to arrive at NTHU before the mid Sep.
    Students for Spring Semester have to arrive at NTHU before Feb.
  • Registration (a health examination is required when you arrive NTHU)

 

 

III、Scholarship

　1. NTHU provides Dual Degree Program Scholarship, International Visiting Scholarship, and Pilot Program on a competitive basis.

　2. Some Partner Universities offer scholarships, guaranteed salary, and assistantship. You can check the programs for more details. 

　3. The Scholarship might be offered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ministry of Education.

(3). NTHU Dual Degree Scholarship (link) (offer 7500 euro/per year stipend to students based on the NTHU advisor's recommendation; during students visit the host university)

(5). NTHU Pilot Program/International Student Visiting Scholarship (link)(Competitive; not limited to students of Dual Degree Program)
(6). MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Program-for Franch students only (link)

(8). NSTC(MOST), Taiwan (keyword: CNRS or France)
(9). Please be aware of the conflict of the Scholarship (e.g. is there any regulation of "if you obtain MOFA/NSTC(MOST) scholarship, you cannot receive another governmental scholarship")

  1.   Please confirm the related regulation and agreements for your duty and rights. 

  2.   Procedure, graduation requirements, credit transfer, and fees are based on the regulation of Office of Academic Affairs, involved departments and agreements. 

  3.   Please do apply earlier to save enough time for Visa application and COVID19-related policy.
